Behavioral Research
The Behavioral Research
section of the New Jersey
Institute for Successful
Aging (NJISA) is focused
on studying the psychological
and social aspects of successful
aging. The innovative studies
conducted investigate many
areas including end-of-life
decision making, effects
of exercise in the elderly,
and caregiving.
The NJISA Behavioral Research
Section is headed by Rachel
Pruchno, PhD, who also serves
as the Director for the
entire NJISA Research Division.
Dr. Rachel Pruchno is a
nationally recognized researcher
on family caregiving, end
of life decision-making,
and physical and mental
health in adulthood.
In alignment with the New
Jersey Institute for Successful
Aging’s vision, the
Behavioral Research section
aims to promote successful
aging and improve the quality
of life of older adults
utilizing the evidence-based
findings from its ongoing
research projects.
