Brief Summary of Research Initiative:
This pilot study is examining the role of differing exercise modalities on the health and well-being of overweight and obese women 50 and better. Participants were randomly assigned to either the strength training group or the cardiovascular group. They are expected to exercise at 3, 1-hour sessions throughout the 12 week intervention. Primary outcome variables include the change in fitness items along with changes in their psychological profile.
