Brief
Summary of Research Initiative:
This is a national
study of women age 50-64
who are working and providing
care to community-dwelling
elderly relatives or loved
ones. The study will look
at workplace and caregiving
stressors, work-caregiving
conflict, physical and emotional
health, and work costs for
this population. By increasing
our understanding of the
work and family roles of
older women, results from
this study will help growing
numbers of women to find
fulfillment from both their
work and caregiving roles.
Study findings will sensitize
key decision makers within
the business world to the
critical issues faced by
growing numbers of older
women workers, and will
provide policymakers with
knowledge about the costs
associated with these roles.
